• Born in 1961, I spent the first 9 years in Hong Kong before moving to Canada and becoming a Canadian citizen.    I grew up in a middle class family in Burlington, Ontario
• I have been married for 28 years and have one daughter and two sons.  Both of our boys are currently enrolled in post-secondary studies and both also serve part-time in the Canadian Armed Forces.   Our oldest son is a professional dancer and our daughter will be graduating high school later this year.
• My family and I have lived in Maple Ridge for 16 years, and my sister's family also lives in the community.

Professional Problem Solver

• Currently contract employed as a National Engineering Data System Analyst at NAV CANADA, which is the organization that operates Canada’s civil air navigation service for Canada. 
• Previous role with an Engineering software developer I have managed multiple engineering software projects in Asia, the Middle East, Western Europe and the United States.
• Owned and operated a successful award winning Computer Aided Design (CAD) business in Ontario from 1987 to 1990.
• I am a professional musician with 4 published albums, a nominee for Children’s music award, and JUNO Awards judge in 2009 and 2010
• Nominated for the Maple Ridge Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Award 2009, 2010

Community Connections

• Have participated and volunteered in Scouting all my life.  Served as Area Commissioner for Mission/Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows 2007 to 2010.  Created the Albion Scout Group, and have worked to foster to promote the revitalization and relevance of scouting in our Community.  Continue to serve the area Scouts via the BP Guild.
• Served as Auxiliary Constable in the Ridge Meadows RCMP detachment 2011 to 2013
• Served on the Art Council Board of Directors from 2009 to 2011
• Rotarian since 2008, president elect for 2017
• Helped revitalize the Maple Ridge Christmas Festival and Santa Claus parade
• Helped initiate community events including:   The GETI festival, Earth Day Festival, Blue Grass Festival, Spirit Wood Festival and Spring Festival
• Silver Level sponsor for the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation since 2007, and a Silver Sponsor of the Disability Games in 2009
• Leader of the Silver Valley Neighbourhood Association; connecting people with neighbourhood events and issues.

• Happy Drumming Friday:   Spiritually uplifting hand drumming that’s just pure fun.
